It is extremely important to care for and store pH electrodes when not in use.

Too often, electrodes lose the ability to retain calibration because they were stored in distilled water or allowed to dry out.

When pH electrodes are not being used, left overnight or for longer periods, the pH electrode should be kept to soak in Electrode Storage Solution.

Our pH Electrode Solution solution is the same formula scientists use in laboratories to store glass pH electrodes. pH Electrode Storage solution maximises electrode performance and extends electrode life.

pH Electrodes should never be stored dry. Ideally the pH glass sensing bulb should always be kept in the solution to maintain maximum response from the electrode and increase the life of your digital pH meter.

Buffers or distilled water are not suitable for storage of pH electrodes. Distilled water will cause ions to leach out of the glass bulb and render your electrode useless.

The electrodes can become coated in contaminates which build up over time. It is recommended that the electrodes be cleaned regularly with Hygen® Probe Cleaner solution before calibrating your meter.

pH Electrode Storage and Probe Cleaner solutions are the same quality as those used in laboratories for the safe cleaning and storage of electronic meters. All Care solutions are made using High Quality Analytical Grade constituents.

Application

Ensure that calibration solutions are kept free from contamination. DO NOT return used liquids to the bottle and NEVER dip meters directly into the bottle otherwise it will give inaccurate calibrations and lead to poor crop health.
