Air Pot 3L
Air-Pot® is a recyclable, reusable plastic container that actively enhances the quality of the root systems of plants.
For plants to thrive they need healthy roots, but standard pots deform roots and this seriously compromises the health of the plant.
Air-Pot containers do the opposite, actively enhancing the plant by making it develop a mass of healthy fibrous roots. This maximises the ability to absorb nutrients and water leading to faster growth.
The ground-breaking design of the Air-Pot container has been continually refined over twenty years and is now in its sixth generation.
Every detail has been enhanced to guarantee healthy root development and maximise aeration. Additional oxygen in the growing medium leads to healthy bacteria and better nutrient release. At the same time, the shape of the wall eliminates root circling and encourages the development of a mass of healthy fibrous roots. The additional roots mean better take up of nutrients and water leading to faster growth and healthier plants.
Made of recycled HDPE in the UK, your Air-Pot® can last up to ten years or more. The Air-Pot’s unique design ensures that there are no flat surfaces due to the inward and outward pointed cones. This eliminates any chance of starting the spiraling process as well as dramatically increases growth rates.
- Eliminate root circling:
The 3-Dimensional cone shape of the Air-Pot wall and continuous air-pruning eliminates root circling.
- Reduce growing time on the nursery:
The rapid build-up of new white roots fills the rootball, resulting in plants being available for sale much more quickly.
- Double – at least – the shelf-life of stock:
As long as water and nutrients are applied correctly, the root structure in the Air-Pot just keeps getting better. This is a crucial benefit to nurseries, garden centers and landscapers as stock can be held for a full extra season if unsold, or planting schedules are delayed.
- Ensure superior performance in extremes of weather:
With continuous air pruning, new root is always being generated, particularly from the base of the stem. This makes the plant significantly less vulnerable to extremes of cold and heat which so badly affect the roots at the outer edge of a traditional container.
- Reduce losses dramatically:
Immediate re-establishment after transplant means that there are virtually no losses, allowing the nursery stock to be guaranteed.
- Simplify production:
Small stock can be planted direct into 7/15/20 gallon containers, making several pottings unnecessary. In trials at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, it was found that the larger the Air-Pot container the faster the growth.
