future of hydroponics

Our World Is Not Enough

4.5 billion years ago our planet was formed, around 200,000 ago, us humans decided to get smart and started to roam around. We then got even smarter and understood, that instead of moving from one patch of land to another in search of food, we can put seeds in the ground and grow what we need.

Fast forward a little to around 600 BC and we are “civilized;” building fantastic structures and applying the first principles of hydroponics to the hanging gardens of Babylon. 1000 AD, the mighty Aztecs were floating gardens on the lake and 200 years later Marco Polo sighted the Chinese doing the same. Throughout our history, we have continuously developed traditional agricultural techniques and have especially innovated in hydroponics. Yep, we can pat ourselves on the back that we can grow like champions now. With soil and better yet hydroponic style without soil.

However, the pat on the back, unfortunately, goes hand in hand with the sobering realization that in the few seconds, we as human beings, have been around, we have managed to significantly ruin the planet and its natural resources which have been around 22,500 times longer than us. With already 7.8 billion of us “smart” human beings occupying this less than Blue Planet, it is time to jump ship and ruin another planet. Our world is not enough.

So what now? Well, we have our eyes set on the red planet, Mars. We clever human beings might just pull it off and land on a new planet and make it our own. We have the biological and agricultural know-how to terraform the Red Planet and make it a Blue Planet. Just like our Earth used to be. But all our growing expertise will have to be applied first on our journey to the Red Planet. Whether we travel with NASA, with Elon’s Space X or with another party, the challenges remain the same. Mars is a little further away than the moon. So the journey can take anywhere from half a year to a year. Travel, especially space travel, is all about speed…which is all about weight. So packing frozen food packs for an astronaut team who will travel at least 6 months, stay on mars for at least a couple of months and then travel back…is impossible. Unless we have warp or hyperdrives to propel us there with all that food weight.

Being able to grow our food allowed us to settle in the past and build civilization. Now that we have to leave our settlement to settle somewhere else, the solution to save weight may lie in growing on the way. Seeds weigh next to nothing, water is something that can be recycled (plus lots of it on Mars) and soil is too heavy to carry. These variables all point in one direction.

Hydroponics.

With a pocket full of seeds weighing a couple of grams, we may just have a chance to feed ourselves on the way, feed ourselves when we are there and eat on the way back. Experiments on the ISS have yielded positive results. So hydroponics may just help save the day for humanity and help us plant the seeds of destruction on the next planet.

no till farming

To Till or Not To Till

Well, if we care about our environment and especially about our crop, then there is really no question. Tilling, drilling, shovelling, whatever you may call it, disturbs the precious structures of the soil that has developed over more years then we have been around. The forest floor is one of the most perfect examples of how we want our soil to be for when we grow at home. It has been well documented on how extremely remote, undisturbed forest areas are explosively fertile. Mother nature is, therefore, the gold or better yet, platinum standard of organic growing, as it is, 100%, natural. Seems pretty obvious, huh, well, oddly enough, the powers that be of big industry and general common misconception, still often push towards super chemicals claiming to help the bottom line. Make no mistake, whatever the bottom line is, be it quality, profits, turnover etc., In the long run, organic style growing, just like mother nature does it, will ultimately win the race.

So, don’t be afraid to go the organic route when you are experimenting with your grow. If you have good-sized pots or a patch of land, go for it. Get yourself some organic super soil which is specially designed to simulate all the nutrient goodness of for example a forest floor. Chuck some happy (if you’re squeamish) worms on top  to promote the production of fresh compost, otherwise known as “vermiculture.” Worms digest decomposing organic material and create castings that replenish the soil with valuable nutrients, eliminating the need for the external input of fertilizers.

You will notice higher crop yields and simply better results. Via No-Till growing, you retain all the goodness within the soil which means, not only it being re-usable, but more fertile, more resilient, more water-absorbent and nutrient absorbent. If higher productivity, quality and big yields are what you are after, then simply go organic. Going natural also means saying goodbye to harmful chemicals which not only saves you money but also saves your health if you intend to consume what you grow.

And let’s be honest, of course you wanna try what you grow!

Bluelab Truncheon Nutrient Meter

The World’s favorite conductivity meter. Simply brilliant, brilliantly simple!

It is essential when growing with a hydroponic solution to KNOW what the strength of the solution is before feeding your plants AND while they are growing. If the conductivity reading is too low, your plants may not be getting enough nutrients. If the conductivity reading is too high, plants can dehydrate.

Understanding the conductivity of the nutrient solution takes the guesswork out of feeding plants. It will also save you money! Using the Bluelab Truncheon® Nutrient Meter is the fastest and easiest way to measure the conductivity!

To take a reading of your solution – simply place the probe head into the solution and the reading is indicated by the flashing lights. Calibration of the Truncheon® Nutrient Meter is not required.

The Bluelab French-English Truncheon® Nutrient Meter is available with Canadian-French / English labels and instructions.

Bluelab pH Pen

The ultimate handy solution for measuring pH and temperature!

Plants get their nutrient from minerals but they can only get all the right minerals they need if certain conditions are right. Think of nutrients like a lock. pH is the key. A key factor that affects food uptake is whether your solution is acid or alkaline. We measure this in pH.

The Bluelab pH Pen also measures the temperature of the solution, as root health is vital to the success of a crop. Temperature affects the growth rate and structure of a plant so a solution temperature of 18 – 22°C or 65 – 72°F is recommended.

The hand held pH pen provides a compact quick and handy way to manage the success of your crop to ensure maximum uptake of nutrients.

Teamed with our Bluelab ppm or EC Pen, you have a handy, convenient and accurate system for ensuring optimum plant growth and health.

Now isn’t that Handy!

What The Fish!

Most people at one point in their childhood have wanted a pet. Be it a pony, a puppy or a fish tank…the classical response from mommy or daddy is,” are you going to take care of it?” Puppies poop and pee all over the place. Who is responsible for cleaning it up? Pony’s drop number 2’s too and who will shovel it all out of mum’s garden? Fish tanks left unattended will end up looking and smelling like sewers.

Luckily, most of us, grow up and end up growing. Whether we grow something to look at, eat or smoke, we all want the best possible result. And as grownups, we generally understand that poop is good for growing. We all remember those days when driving past certain farms, rolling up the windows and turning up the aircon to max doesn’t help filter out that particular aroma. Well, nature is not in the business of being wasteful and animal waste never goes to waste. Farmers take the example of nature’s usage of waste and create fertilizers…which we happily inhale when passing certain farms.

In the world of hydroponics, an essential part of the game is making sure that the plant roots, which are happily dangling in the water, absorb the best nutrients and bacteria we can provide. So, if we follow nature’s advice, we provide plants with animal waste.

Aquaponics, a branch of hydroponics, is the merge of fish farming (aquaculture) and hydroponics. The fish tank that we wanted as a child but was denied has a purpose now other than only housing pretty fish. By connecting two sub-systems into one, we can reap the best of both worlds in the pet department and the plant department. One system houses the fish, which is connected to the other system that grows the plants. The common medium is water which via connecting tubes and filters carries the fish waste from one tank into the other. The plants reap the benefits of the poop rich water. The fish are also happy campers as the plant roots absorb harmful nitrogen from the water which then gets circulated back to the fish.

This win-win-win system is something that nature has been doing for millions of years and makes a good looking set-up for your home garden!

HomeBox   HOMEbox® Evolution represents…

HomeBox

HOMEbox® Evolution represents the culmination of everything we know about growing plants indoors. Ever since we invented the original portable grow tent back in 2001 we haven’t stopped innovating and improving.

The result is HOMEbox® Evolution – our most advanced portable grow tent to date. Quite simply, it forms the ideal space for growing plants indoors, unsurpassed by any other grow tent on the market.

Model names starting with the letter ‘Q’ have a square footprint.
Model names starting with the letter ‘R’ have a rectangular footprint.

Are your plants on PAR+?

PAR+ is our super reflective lining, developed exclusively for HOMEbox®. PAR+ is a “smart material” which reflects more plant-usable energy (PAR light) and less heat at your plants. Other lesser reflective materials have been shown to shift the spectrum of grow lights and create more infrared radiation (heat). Our PAR+ super reflective material is the primary reason so many growers report higher growth rates and markedly improved crop quality over lesser competitor non-PAR optimised grow tents.

PAR stands for Photosynthetically Active Radiation. It’s a narrow band of electromagnetic energy (400 – 700 nm) which plants use in photosynthesis. Think of PAR as photonic fuel for your plants. The more PAR energy your plants receive, the more they grow, and the more flowers and fruit they produce. When it comes to growing, it’s all about PAR – not lumens!

OmniFlow Directable Air Vents

Our unique, rounded OmniFlow air vents give growers an extra level of control to fine-tune their growing environment. OmniFlow air vents are the most easy to seal passive intakes on the market – no more fussing with Velcro. It allows growers to actively direct incoming fresh air to exactly where it’s needed -usually between the plant canopy and the grow light – for maximum benefit to the crop.

Additional Air-Ports

Larger, adjustable air-ports with improved closure to accommodate ducting from extraction fans up to 250mm (10”). Larger models in the HOMEbox® Evolution range also feature additional air-ports to accommodate ducting from air-cooled reflectors.

Simplified Access

Finally a grow tent that’s easy to get in and out of! HOMEbox® Evolution boasts a unique no-trip, seamless access without any compromise over light proofing! Our stowable, roll-up doors and side access (on larger models) make garden maintenance a pleasure, not a chore.

Thicker Poles and Connectors

Our larger tents (from the Q100 and larger) now come with stronger 22mm frame poles and reinforced connectors and hooks giving you unlimited possibilities for suspending heavyweight ventilation, filtration and lighting equipment.

Total-Blackout Zippers

Create a light-proof seal without the need for additional flaps and Velcro. Total-Blackout Zippers feature an enhanced HOMEbox® Evolution zip-pull. Our unique new design allows all zips to be fully operated using just one hand with no threading required making getting in and out of your garden easier than ever.

Unbeatable Bug Protection

All HOMEbox® Evolution grow tents are fitted with protective integral MicroMesh covers on all air vents. The vent covers are completely removable or fixable on the inside or the outside of the tent. Our enhanced MicroMesh material measures just 700 microns affording growers maximum protection and peace of mind.

The PAR Laboratory Test

In independent tests at the Electro Technical Testing Institute in Prague, a 1.2 x 1.2m HOMEbox® PAR-optimised grow tent was compared with a competitor’s silver-lined grow tent of the same size. Both were illuminated with a 600-watt Osram Vialux HPS lamp in Adjust-a-Wing Avenger reflectors fitted with super-spreaders, powered by a Lumatek electronic ballast set to super-lumens mode.
Using an Avaspec 3648 fibreoptic PAR meter, light intensity was measured at 49 different test points, 60 cm below the lamp.

HOMEbox® (PAR Optimised)
91.8% of the growing area received 80 PAR watts or more.

Silver-Lined Grow Tent
Only 69.4% of the growing area received 80 PAR watts or more.

80 PAR watts is broadly equivalent to the energy levels required by light-loving plants indoors to grow and bloom to their full genetic potential.

Hyper Fan Phresh

HyperFan

HyperFan

HyperFan complete with variable Rheostat

WAY TO GROW is pleased to announce the arrival of Hyper Fan. Hyper Fan uses next generation “Multi-Phase” EC Motors that energizes the motor 12 times per revolution. Power delivery to the fan blade is smooth, ultra efficient and vibration free. This fan uses up to half the power and produces half the heat of current leading industry mixed flow fans. This results in greatly reduced energy costs, less wear, improved reliability and increased lifespan. Hyper Fan produces up to 2.4 inches of Water Gauge pressure. The highest pressure of any fan in its class, delivering more air movement through ducting, carbon filters or air cooled hoods. Detachable speed controller is included. Available in 150mm (149Lps/315cfm), 200mm (335Lps/710cfm) & 250mm (503Lps/1065cfm). 300mm & 350mm coming soon.

HYPERFAN by Phresh

HyperFan is the first of it’s kind, first and only in the industry to utilize EC motor technology, the first and only digital brushless motor.

The Hyperfan produces high-pressure laminar airflow. Remember that laminar airflow is a precise, high-pressure tube of air. A good way to explain this is that a centrifugal fan is like a shotgun, while laminar airflow is like a sniper rifle.

The HyperFan’s compact, efficient technology consists of a circuit board with “soft start” feature built in and 12 magnetic poles.  The circuit boards are high quality, produced by Sanyong, and the soft start feature prevents extreme electrical currents from degrading the electrical components, much like SOLIS TEK digital ballasts. Other brands of fans have 2-4 magnetic poles in a brush motor variety. The Hyperfan has no brushes, and 12 magnetics poles. This is important. HyperFan’s “Multi-Phase” technology, means that these 12 poles fire in thirds. 4/4/4. The result is 3 constant, smooth, waves, of power transfer. (Rather than one wave with big spikes of energy.) One third of the full current produces less heat.  Multi-Phase technology in combination with EC motor technology is how HyperFan accomplishes higher CFM and greater static pressure than a comparably sized MaxFan at ½ the energy consumption.  Another benefit of this clean, compact technology is that the motor-shaft is much shorter in a HyperFan than in other fans; which positions the bearings much closer together.  Other fan manufacturers use roller pin style bearings; which require a certain RPM for them to properly self lubricate. They can become problematic when adjusting the fan rotation speed, and are prone to binding up. This will not be an issue with the HyperFans because they have heavy-duty sealed ball bearings. (6mm in the 6”, 8mm in the 8” and 10mm in the 10” fans.)  These bearings are NMB, produced by the same Japanese bearing company that makes bearings for skateboards. These high quality bearings are rated 7 on the ABEC Rating scale. Quality bearings, on a shorter motor shaft, makes for a very reliable, smooth operating fan. This is one of the reasons that our fans are quieter when you turn the speed down low, instead of louder like our competitors fans. It also allows the fan to be mounted in any orbital position necessary for convenience.

The HyperFan utilizes 8 stators and 7 taper blades to produce high-pressure laminar air flow. Taper blades are inspired by jet airplane turbine design. They produce high pressure behind the blade. High pressure naturally wants to move to low pressure, so in addition to the high-pressure laminar airflow that they produce, they also push their own blades, assisting in the rotation of the whole blade set, for smooth, efficient operation that is gentle on all the components.

The highly engineered taper blade set is made of PBT plastic.  This plastic is extremely hard and will not deform over time, after continued use, even under extreme environmental conditions. The MaxFan uses plastic blade sets on some sizes. The plastic that they use is not as hard and more likely to deform over time.  The PBT plastic in the HyperFan blades is more brittle because of its rigidity, so it is more likely to chip if you stick something into the blades during operation.

The body of the HyperFan is a lightweight, anodized blue aluminum, which comes with the mounting bracket attached.

The HyperFan comes with a dimmable speed controller (anywhere between 35%-100%) on a seperate cord independent from the power cord. If it was inline on the power cord there would be too much amperage transferring to the rheostat, which can overload the rheostat.  By putting the speed controller on a separate cord, the HyperFan regulates the flow of power to the rheostat with minimal ohms resistance. Having the controller on a separate cord allows the user to mount it in a convenient location. If it becomes necessary to detach the speed controller (at the unit, or the fan end of the cord), the HyperFan will operate at full power.

In “hot box” consistency testing, the hot box environment is manipulated to simulate extremes of humidity, pressure and heat. Testing the fan this way for 1 month, equates to the fan running at normal environmental conditions for an entire year.

200 HyperFans of various sizes have been running at full power, constantly, for more than 13 months now with zero failure.  The HyperFan has a 5 year warranty.  The HyperFan will operate between the ranges of -10°C to 70°C  (14°F-158°F).  It is unlikely that the HyperFan will encounter these temperature extremes. HyperFans are equipped with a safety shut off feature and are ETL & C-tick listed.

Cocos A & B

Cocos A & B

House & Garden A&B coco base nutrient requires an extremely precise composition of the various minerals. House & Garden coco nutrients are coco specific nutrients which contain far less potassium than other nutrients to take into account the high levels of potassium released from the coco media during the growing cycle. The special composition of the nutrient solution leaves the water reservoir pure and keeps it fresh. At the same time it provides an excellent balanced nutrient ensuring optimal absorption at the root zone.

Product Information

House & Garden Coco base nutrient is composed of liquid nutrients and trace elements and contains no bulking agent. This makes the transfer from the root zone to the plant easier. Coco base nutrient is composed of the purest high-quality nutrients that are available on the market to date, including Eddha-Fe (iron). This enables the plant to absorb the nutrient quickly and effectively. In short if you want an excellent start for your plants use House & Garden A&B Coco. House & Garden base nutrients contain a full range of beneficial elements. Humic and Fulvic acids improve the uptake and transportation of nutrients which in turn will promote healthy plant growth and the absorption capacity of the root zone.

Application

When preparing your nutrient container, fill it two thirds with water. First add part A of the nutrient and circulate well before adding part B of the nutrient. Start off in the growth cycle with an EC 1.2, increase following the grow schedule until the end of bloom and finish with an EC of around 2.0. Add any root growth stimulators or flowering stimulators at this point then top up the container to the desired level.

Adjust the pH value to harmonise with the nutrient solution. Do not add A&B at the same time, as this will trigger a chemical reaction in the nutrient, resulting in solidification of some parts of the nutrient and causing incomplete nourishment for your plants. Also this could cause some blockages in irrigation piping.

For best results use House & Garden Cocos

Stimulators

Stimulators

Roots Excelurato:

Plant roots are an essential part of the ecosystem below the soil surface. They are the link between the plant above ground and everything that happens in the soil. Roots are vital for the plant’s growth and have much influence on feeding the soil life and the structure of the soil. The better the rooting, the better the soil structure, the better the soil life, and the easier it is for nutrients to be absorbed. The result is an excellent plant yield.

Product Information

House & Garden Roots Excelurator is the most powerful root stimulator currently available. Our showpiece in the area of nutrients! This powerful root stimulator ensures the explosive growth of the roots, rids the plants of brown roots, root diseases and provides an excellent rhizosphere (root environment) in the soil or coco medium. Roots Excelurator creates a film around the roots, which functions as a kind of membrane. It keeps harmful diseases and germs out of the root zone but allows the absorption of nutrients. Roots Excelurator also isolates the germs and prevents them from reproducing.

Dilution Rates

Dilution Rate of Roots Excelurator is 0.3ml/L

Application

Use Roots Excelurator in the first five weeks of growth. Prepare your nutrient container by first adding your base nutrient (e.g Cocos, Hydro or Soil) to the water container.  Make sure the nutrient container has the correct EC and pH values. Amino Treatment

Amino Treatment

House & Garden Amino Treatment is a new, revolutionary product that brings noticeably higher fruit yield, with regard to quality as well as to quantity.

The product consists of a balanced complex of ingredients such as small silicate particles which are much smaller than those which you would find in normal silicon. Amino Treatment also contains a unique natural growth and flowering stimulator from an extract taken from plant seeds.

Plants always add a buffer to their seeds, a kind of plant base with-quality enzymes and amino acids which stimulate root development, growth and fruit formation in a powerful way.

So, the use of Amino Treatment results in better nutrient distribution in the leaves, a higher photosynthesis ratio, stronger stalks, increased root activity, better and higher fruit production and a higher sugar content in the fruit. See it and believe it! Amino Treatment, for profuse growth and flowering.

“I grew up in a commercial gardeners’ family, after school my brothers and I had to work in the greenhouse. In this greenhouse I had a small garden of my own… where I grew my own plants and seeds. I wondered what makes plant seeds so powerful. This obsession gave me the basic idea for our new product.

I discovered a very powerful substance in plant seeds; I managed to isolate this material and started combining it with other substances. This effort resulted in an extremely powerful new plants food for the industrial market: Amino Treatment!”

William van der Zwaan – Creator of Amino Treatment

Dilution Rate

Dilution Rate of Amino Treatment is 0.2-1ml/L

Application

Use Amino Treatment with each watering until 3 weeks before harvest.

Bud XL

Bud XL

House & Garden Bud-XL has a unique ability to extract sugars from the leaves of the plant and transfer them to the fruit. The fruit is made sweeter and its taste is improved. Bud-XL will also increase the size and robustness of the flowers, resulting in an increase in fruit production and greater turnover.

Product Information

House & Garden Bud-XL uses enzymes’ processes to extract sugars from the large bracts for storage in the fruits or flowers of the plant. This leads to bigger, sweeter and more robust fruits. The flowers will become larger and improve in colour and quality.

Dilution Rates

Dilution rate of Bud-XL is 1ml/L

Application

Use Bud-XL in the middle of the flowering period (from week 4).

Start adding Bud-XL to the nutrient after the first flowers are formed. This is the period when the big bracts lose their functions. By adding Bud-XL you ensure that the plant’s energy is no longer used for keeping the bract, but is directed into forming the flowers and fruits of the plants. Bud-XL also extracts sugars from the bracts and transports them to the flowers or fruits.

Prepare your nutrient container by first adding your base nutrient (e.g Cocos, Hydro or Soil) to the water container. Adjust your EC of the nutrient and then add your Bud-XL. Adjust the pH value to harmonise with the nutrient solution.

Top Booster

Top Booster

House & Garden Top Booster creates an optical drought giving the plant the impression that the last phase of its life cycle has started. To ensure its survival, the plant will start to form flowers and fruits to reproduce itself. After three or four days, the usual nutrient feeding schedule should be resumed. With this early triggering, the plant will continue to form flowers and fruits and will have time to develop larger fruits.

Product Information

House & Garden Top Booster is an extremely powerful flowering stimulator which will amaze the grower. Top Booster acts on the basis of PK13-14 but with the added benefits of Eddha-Fe (iron). The basis of all flowering boosters is a blend of pure potassium and phosphorus. These elements are important for the plant’s flowering process and create superior flowering sites. Potassium is for the beginning of the flowering stages and phosphorus is for the proper development of fruit and flowers, while the Eddha-Fe additive ensures a better colouring of the leaf.

Drip Clean

Drip Clean

House & Garden Drip Clean is an extremely useful agent for anyone working with drip irrigation systems or gravity feed systems (e.g. Auto pots, IWS Dripper systems). Drip Clean works as a magnet, removing any dirt particles from your piping with every nutrient feeding so that the pipes stay open and clean. Furthermore, Drip Clean gives your plants a boost, improving their greenness and vitality.  Drip Clean can be used to keep pot systems in perfect nutrient balance and reduce the need for flushing.

Product Information

House & Garden Drip Clean is a 100% safe agent providing it is used in the right proportion. Drip Clean contains potassium and phosphors compounds, two very powerful and useful elements in the nutritional plan of the plant. These two compounds have had their chemical molecules changed to remove one of their structures. This makes the molecule into a kind of magnet, as molecules always try to complete themselves. Drip clean attracts dirt particles with every feeding, keeping the drip system clean. Drip Clean can also be used to keep your medium at an optimal EC-TDS level, saving you to flush as often as it will remove salt buildup. Drip clean never fails and is very effective against clogged dripper systems and piping.

Dilution Rates

Dilution rate of Drip Clean is 0.1ml/L

Application

To prevent the drip watering system from clogging, Drip Clean should be added to the nutrient container each time the plants are fed. Just a very small amount of Drip Clean will ensure that your drip watering system is kept clean.

Prepare your nutrient container by first adding your base nutrient (e.g Cocos, Hydro or Soil) to the water container. Adjust your EC of the nutrient and then add your Drip Clean. Adjust the pH value to harmonise with the nutrient solution.

Trace Mix

Trace Mix

The most common deficiency symptom in plants is chlorosis. The symptoms are yellow leaves caused by iron or manganese deficiency. Manganese is important for the plant’s metabolism and cell division. Besides manganese, fast-growing plants also need zinc, copper, boron and molybdenum. Zinc has a beneficial effect on the metabolism and the production of proteins. A deficiency will influence all new growth including the tops. In case of a serious deficiency, the leaves bend downwards, the top leaves will be undersized and deformed and the growth will stagnate. In case of a boron deficiency, the lateral shoots in particular will grow insufficiently and produce poor quality buds. The flowers will be undersized and deformed. An excess of boron will lead to necrosis of the leaf edge. Copper deficiency inhibits the growth and development of the flower bud because copper plays a role in the transport of sugars and water in the plant’s vessels. Molybdenum is used in very small quantities by the plant, but a deficiency may lead to growth inhibition and chlorosis.

Product Information

Trace Mix regulates and facilitates the plant’s metabolism. In combination with enzymes and vitamins, they work as a catalyst. If the substrate contains a lack of micro-elements, it will affect the quality, growth and yield of the plant. House & Garden Trace Mix supplements these deficiencies, which may occur in fast growing plants.

Dilution Rates

Dilution rate of Trace Mix is 1ml/L

Application

Trace Mix can be added preventively to ready-to-use nutrients or be administered via the leaves.  Results are already noticeable after two or three days.  Trace Mix is suitable for growth in Cocos, Hydro and Soil.

Foliar Spray

Foliar Spray

Plants absorb Foliar Spray through their leaves. The top layer of cells of the leaf wells up, as it were. This produces so-called micro-pores, which allow the fertilisers to penetrate the leaf. When the fertilisers have gone through the last leaf layer, they run into cells that are able to absorb nutrients and to convert them into building blocks. This helps restore deficiencies. Foliar Spray ensures fast and effective growth, dissolves any discolourations caused by nutrient deficiencies and provides the plant with a healthy and vital leaf colour.

Product Information

House & Garden Foliar Spray is an effective product for foliar fertilisation. Foliar Spray can be used in case of poor absorption of nutrients through the roots. Foliar Spray helps the nutrients penetrate the leaf. Use only in the grow period of the plants.

Dilution Rates

Dilution rate of Foliar Spray is 1ml/L

Application

Apply Foliar Spray in fine drops using a hand or knapsack sprayer. Use when lamps are off to avoid burning.

CANNA Coco A & B

CANNA Coco A & B is a complete professional nutrient for growing plants in coco. It contains all the essential elements for optimal growing and flowering.

Thanks to the special characteristics of coco substrate CANNA COCO doesn’t have a Vega and Flores variant, but there is one unique formulation for both the growth and blooming phase. We can’t make things easier! CANNA COCO is easy to use, dissolves directly and is extremely suitable for growing in all watering systems, like for example ‘run-to-waste‘ systems, flood systems and ebb and flow systems.

Rich in high-value elements

After years of research into potting mixes, drainage and leaf analysis, CANNA has succeeded in being the first to develop a fertiliser that is specifically tailored to the characteristics of cocos substrates. CANNA COCO is composed of high value minerals. CANNA COCO contains natural chelates, humic and fulvic acids which give the plant optimum nutrient absorption. Growers throughout the world have been enthusiastic for years about the explosive growth and profuse flowering with CANNA COCO.

Why A&B nutrients?

CANNA COCO nutrients consist of two parts, an A part and a B part. We separate these parts for a reason. As it happens, if some of the elements in part A and B are thrown together at the same time, they clog together. The plant cannot absorb this. That’s why you should first add the A component and then the B component!
